County Road II & North have recycling pick up on Tuesday.
County Road II & South have recycling pick up on Friday.
Holidays are shown in yellow, commingle days are shown in blue & paper days are in green.
Trash pick up is every week.

1. Newspapers, cardboard & mixed office paper should be bundled or bagged in paper bags (plastic bags are not acceptable). Place them on top of or beside the garbage container.
a. Magazines, junk mail (including window envelopes) brown paper bags, mixed office paper and cardboard is accepted in a brown paper bag or bundled with twine.
b. Boxes from a 12-pack soda carton or cereal boxes are now accepted as recyclable.
2. Glass jars and bottles, clear or colored should be rinsed out to prevent odor problems and spilling.
a. Labels & covers may be left on.
b. Glass; such as light bulbs, window glass, drinking glasses & dishes are not recyclable.
3. Labels on tin and bi-metal cans are encouraged to be removed. Cans should be rinsed to prevent odor problems.
a. It is helpful to cut both ends of the can and crush them to save space.
b. Large metal items will not be accepted.
4. Aluminum cans should be rinsed and also crushed to help save space.
5. Plastic #1 & #2.
a. If in doubt please check the bottom of the bottle for the recycling symbol and the numbers 1 & 2.
b. Plastic bags are not recyclable.
c. It is a must to rinse residue from plastic bottles.
d. Please remove caps from all bottles.
e. Plastic oil containers are not recyclable.
Bulky item pick up will be the 1st Tuesday of the month. This is for furniture, mattresses & box springs. These items are at no charge per their contract.
Appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, water heaters, dehumidifiers, microwaves etc. are $40.00 each. An alternative would be to take them to the County Landfill for $13.00 each.
Veolia (formerly Onyx) does not pick up Christmas Trees in the Town of Clayton.
The town has a yard waste drop off site at the corner of Hickory and County Road II.
The site is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to noon and on Thursdays from noon to 7:00 PM throughout the summer months. December 1st through March 31st, the site will only be open on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to noon.
